Dear Rahul,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter to sincerely apologise for not being able to keep our appointment yesterday evening and for the inconvenience it caused you.

Unfortunately, I was caught up in an unexpected work emergency that arose at the last minute. A client issue needed immediate attention, and I was required to stay back at the office far longer than I had planned. As the situation developed suddenly, I did not get the chance to contact you in advance, which I genuinely regret.

I completely understand that you had set aside your time to meet me, and I am truly sorry for letting you down. I know how frustrating it can be when plans are disrupted without notice, and I feel bad about wasting your valuable time. Please be assured that missing our meeting was never intentional.

To make up for this, I would really appreciate the chance to reschedule our appointment.
